I have summarized the teachings of every religion into the following aphorisms
1. 'I' am neither the body nor the mind but one who possesses them.
This is evident if one analyzes who is 'he/her'. Am I the hand, the leg, or the head? No, I am none of these. You may spend days doing this analysis, but you will always reach this conclusion.
2. A lot of intelligence has gone into the design of this 'universe' (creation).
Take a flower, an insect or even a single celled organism and observe the intricate design of the living entity. You will be astounded at the amount of detailed design. Everything has been worked out - even to the extent of how that entity will be interacting with the environment or body it's part of. Doesn't it suggest that a 'directed' thought has gone behind it?
3. That intelligence cannot be the attribute of an insentient (unconscious) entity, but of a sentient (conscious) one.
Unconscious entity cannot display it's own intelligence; it's intelligence is always the product of a higher intelligence. Hence the 'supreme' intelligence is conscious.
4. That 'supreme' intelligence has created this universe with a purpose.
5. The mission of human life is to understand this purpose.
6. This purpose is 'happiness'. This is easily understood from the fact that all endeavors are directed toward happiness.
7. The Supreme Intelligence has also prescribed the way to achieve happiness in our endeavors.
I thank Sathguru and Srila Prabhupada for inducing me with these aphorisms. These aphorisms cannot be defied by any atheistic powers.
